‘Harry Potter’ Books Contain ‘Real’ Spells and Curses

Say what you like about the world of Harry Potter – there’s no denying that it got a whole generation of kids reading books, which can’t be a bad thing, right?

Well, one school pastor thinks otherwise – and has come in the headlines this week for his (slightly bizarre) take on the young adult fantasy novels.


Reverend Dan Reehill, the pastor of St Edward Catholic School in Nashville, Tennessee, believes that not only are the Harry Potter books against Christianity but that they’re actually threatening.

He claims to have consulted with the Vatican and “real” exorcists and come to the result that the magic of the stories is real – and could actually be very risky. Feeling confused? Us, too.
